Truth, Moral Rightness, and Justification: A Habermasian Perspective on Decolonizing the University

چکیده

In this paper, Anniina Leiviskä examines the moral, political, and epistemic claims of social justice movement known as “decolonizing university” from perspective Jürgen Habermas's distinction between objective normative validity respective notions truth moral rightness. challenges view, held by some representatives decolonization, that are inseparable each other suggests evaluating justification requires holding these at least analytically distinguishable. She argues while political find strong through discourse morality, its claims, especially rejection shared standards knowledge, might have epistemically problematic consequences. Accordingly, here decolonization is conditional on acceptance — pragmatic concept criterion impartiality which she develops in paper basis theory rational a model justification. Finally, proposes implications criteria for practices higher education curriculum should be determined an open unconstrained discussion members inclusive university community.
